I am John Smolinski and please give me a moment to tell you why I love being a DJ!

My love for music began when I was just 8 years old, growing up on Chicago’s South Side in the 70’s. My mother and two sisters were talented musicians playing piano and Hammond organ often and my contribution to the beat was playing spoons on chairs, tables, walls, or you name it. All I wanted to do was play drums and entertain everyone! Finally, at just 8 years old, my grandma purchased my first set of old Ludwig drums and my love for all types of music was born.

 

I studied drummers and all kinds of bands. I had a real ear for music early on and then expanded my passion to playing guitar. Being from Chicago we experienced some of the best blue bands getting their start in the country. During the next decade Hip-Hop was born and a whole new genre of music was exploding so I jumped on board with the sound. Every teenager at that time was spinning records and dreaming of being the next greatest DJ.

 

I have played in many bands over the years. Currently I am endorsed by Soultone Cymbals and Scorpion Percussion as a pro musician. My passion for music and entertaining people is in my blood. It is what I love to do! I watch the crowd and reactions to be sure everyone is having as much fun as I am!

Becoming a DJ was about expanding my talents in the entertainment industry. I made an investment in state-of-the-art equipment and know how to bring the right sound to your event. The most important thing to me is to be sure I deliver everything YOU want and that starts from our first meeting.

 

Why is my background important to know? Being a DJ is about setting the perfect vibe with amazing music from all genres. My music abilities and knowledge has been decades in the making and my passion to produce the most memorable experience is so important. I take pride and enjoyment in creating a musical atmosphere so all your guests will want to get up and dance!
